Workshops, tuition and hands on.

There seems to be masses of information, in books, magazines, and especially on the web, to give information, guidance, tips and inspiration in all areas of photography, and there is without doubt real value in looking at the work of photographers, and in the sharing of their experiences, methods and practice.

Photography at college, and working as an assistant in a busy commercial studio and darkroom gave me the hands on sort of experience that I value even now, and later teaching photography in adult education, I realised that other people also value the experience of participating in an inspiring enviroment - aswell as surfing the net and buying the magazines!

After over 25 years of being a dedicated photographer and darkroom worker I offer a series of hands on 'experiences' in 'traditional' black and white photographic practices, in an informal, flexible and enjoyable enviroment -perhaps a planned day in the landscape with a large format, or roll film camera, exposing and developing film, making traditional black and white prints (up to 40x30 inches), toning prints, finishing and mounting. In short, any one, or all of the parts of film based photography are offered as involving, inspiring events.

I welcome enquiries from anyone wanting to become involved (from having a passing interest, to the demands of a more seasoned worker) in any part of the series of visual and technical stages that make traditional silver based photography so compelling.

Please feel free to contact me, and we can discuss the details.
